In total, there are 1,973 solar panels installed across the Estate with the potential to create a total output of 832 kWp. The arrays have been designed so as to ensure maximum electricity is consumed by the businesses that are connected to the systems with surplus electricity being sold to the grid. We are anticipating that over 75% of the electricity being produced will be consumed on site and they should save 153 tonnes of carbon being emitted on an annual basis. This equates to the equivalent of planting 7,046 trees per annum.
The second system was installed at one of our Commercial sites, Childs Court Farm, where we have a range of light industrial and commercial occupiers. This system is slightly smaller at 67 kW and has been designed to match the electricity demands on site. A total of 165 modules have been fixed to the southern elevation of one of the warehouse buildings and will supply 7 of our tenants with clean electricity.
The third system was installed at Vicars Game to help power the supply to butchery and farm shop. Again, this system has been designed to try and maximise use on site. A total of 720 panels have been installed in the 306 kWP system which should save the equivalent of 56 tonnes of carbon annually each year which is the equivalent to planting 2.554 trees per annum.
