Shop, Eat and Stay
“With over 300 covers available in Yattendon, you can be sure of finding a table” and if you want to stay a bit longer there are rooms available at either the Royal Oak or The Pot Kiln
The Royal Oak
…has been a destination pub on many families list for generations.
The Royal Oak is a country dining pub with a menu that is constantly changing with the seasons, using the very best ingredients, cooked perfectly and served with a smile.
Following a full refurbishment in 2017, the pub has two styles – the traditional part where you can unwind in a warm and earthy environment, with 2 log fires, wonderful oak beams and bespoke oak tables or the new Orangery extension, overlooking the the kitchen with bi-fold doors leading out onto the landscaped gardens with sofa terrace, dining under the pergola all set around the Victorian Walled garden.
For those that would like to stay in the area, there are 10 stunning en suite rooms, all individually styled with their own colour scheme and fabric. Luxury linens, fluffy towels and soft pillows come as standard…and all boast pretty views of the village square or walled garden.
The Renegade Brewery
A ringside view of the Brewery, fresher than fresh beer and locally sourced, freshly prepared food, the brewery is a great destination for friends and families to come and relax in the Berkshire countryside.
There are plenty of tables inside, or try the terrace outside which in the summer has incredible views of the Berkshire countryside and in the winter has a fully enclosed heated marquee. You can also bring your dog and there are treats for them as well.
With a huge range of events on, this is a really relaxing place to come whether it is just for a drink or something more substantial.
The Pot Kiln
A rustic but comfortable, Spanish inspired pub, the Pot Kiln is the ultimate destination for anyone looking for something unique in the heart of the Berkshire countryside.
After undergoing a huge refurbishment, the Pot Kiln is now run by the same team behind the Royal Oak in Yattendon.
However with a very different feel, the Pot Kiln is inspired by travels in Spain and the Basque country. This combined with locally sourced food and drink and the team’s roots in traditional English pubs makes for a unique experience where there is something for everyone from top end Basque dishes to simple pub snacks and pizzas which can all be seen cooking in the fantastic new open kitchen.
If you want to make a night of it there are 7 beautifully appointed rooms all with en suites and over looking the newly landscaped gardens. The textures and fabrics create a haven in the Berkshire countryside.
Vicars Game and Casey Fields Farm Shop
We are famous for our Game, most of which comes from the Yattendon Estate and those surrounding it.
Vicars Game have been supplying farm shops, butchers, pubs and some of the finest restaurants in the country for over 100 years and through the Farm Shop just outside Ashampstead, everyone has access to the same high quality produce, all produced using traditional butchery techniques.
As well as a fully stocked butchers counter, there is an excellent fish monger, a deli and pantry, fresh fruit and vegetables and a small café.
The Pantry
As well as coffee, they offer a large selection of loose leaf and herbal teas.
An independent café based in the centre of the village with views over the Square, serving delicious home cooked breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and at the weekend, an all-day brunch menu.
They have a fantastic range of homemade cakes, all made on site and they have a love for great coffee expertly crafted by the team. They are so passionate about their coffee, they have developed their own unique blend!
