The Village Stores and Post Office is one of the most important focal points of village life at Yattendon.
There has been a shop in Yattendon since the 1600s and it currently offers a Post Office counter and provides a wide range of convenience foods for local residents including produce from many of the businesses located on the Estate, including, Vicar’s Game, Renegade Brewery, and Berkshire Botanicals.
The Estate took over the running of the shop in late 2014 and Edward Iliffe, son of Lord Iliffe, was appointed Postmaster. He immediately embarked on major plans to modernise and to extend the premises. The comprehensive work took five months and the result was a fully modernised fitted out store.
The Village Stores stocks an array of fresh produce, delivered daily, including:
- Fruit and vegetables
- Dairy
- Meats
- Deli
- Frozen range provided by FieldFare
If items are not immediately available in store, speak to our Store Manager, Eugene Smit, or Assistant Store Manager Teri Muggeridge, who can arrange delivery of goods within 24 hours.
Daily newspaper and magazine orders are also available on request.
At the weekends, there are fresh doughnuts which always sell out, and freshly baked pastries baked in store.
Pop in store to find our seasonal fare display which changes regularly.
