Shooting

You are invited to bring a team of friends, family or clients to shoot at Yattendon Shoot.

To whet your appetite . . . great craic; fabulous birds; custom built 16-seat Gun Bus; delicious elevenses in the field and shoot lunch in our bespoke Shoot Lodge; both created and presented by our talented young chef, Olivia. And to finish, oven ready birds and a bottle of Estate brewed beer to take away! All the ingredients for a perfect day!

Perfectly placed just 55 minutes’ drive west from central London or 10 minutes by helicopter from Farnborough or Oxford airports. This, together with accommodation in one of our Estate pubs, what’s not to like?

A Typical Day

Your day starts at 09:00 at the Shoot Lodge with coffee and a shoot briefing before moving off in our custom built 16-seat Gun Bus. Our primary aim is that you and your guests have a fabulous, memorable and sporting day.

After shooting the first two drives, Guns enjoy a well-earned and substantial elevenses in the field including delicious bites freshly prepared in the field and served by our chef. Suitably refreshed, Guns are then challenged, once again, to test their mettle on the third drive.

This is followed by Champagne, sloe gin and chocolate tiffin, before moving off to shoot the fourth and last drive.

Lunch

We provide pre-lunch drinks followed by a delicious two course lunch (main and dessert) with wine, plus cheese platter in our purpose-built Shoot Lodge.

With a fabulous nutritious wild food larder of game and seasonal foraging right at the door, guns can look forward to a delicious and unique meal.

If requested, given sufficient warning, our chef is happy to produce whatever menu you request.

Useful Information

- Quarry – We focus on partridges, starting in mid-September until mid-November, before gently transitioning on to the pheasants. However, we continue to shoot partridges on mixed days, right through to the end of the season. All shot birds are processed for eating at Vicars Game, which is part of Yattendon Estate
- Loaders and Stuffers- Guns are encouraged to use either estate loaders/stuffers or their own loaders/stuffers whether they are single or double gunning so they can best enjoy their day
- Non-shooting Guests – We are very happy to accommodate non-shooting guests, both out on the shoot watching, followed by lunch; or just joining the guns for lunch.
- Bag Size – Typically, we shoot 200 to 350 bird days and can easily accommodate substantially bigger bags should guns wish to push on.
- Dogs- Well behaved dogs are welcome and there is plenty of time if they wish to pick up
- Departure- On departure, when seeing the Keeper, all Guns are offered a brace of oven ready birds in a bespoke insulated Yattendon bag to take home with them together with a bottle of beer from the Estate brewery.
